It does not look like Ohio State will be hiring Creighton's Greg McDermott after all.
After reportedly being offered the job Wednesday night, McDermott took to Twitter on Thursday to state he'd be staying as the head coach of the Blue Jays.
I'm blessed and honored to be the coach at Creighton.....and am looking forward to many more great years in Omaha! #rolljays

The next step for Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith is unclear. The Columbus Dispatch reported there was potential interest in current Golden State Warriors assistant Mike Brown. However, while Yahoo! Sports confirmed that report, Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday that coaching at the collegiate level "doesn't intrigue" Brown at the moment.
Brown's got one of best jobs in NBA, made a lot of money and remains immersed in pro game. For now, NCAA ball doesn't intrigue him, I'm told https://t.co/xbib0VsmJh

It's still possible Smith turns to current assistant coach Chris Jent either as a permanent replacement or in an interim role. Jent reportedly interviewed for the position Wednesday.
