Ohio State introduced Chris Holtmann as the 14th head coach in the history of the men's basketball program on Monday morning.
He and Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith spoke for roughly 30 minutes on a number of different topics, including his decision to accept the job, recruiting the state of Ohio and hiring his staff.
Holtmann, 45, replaces former head coach Thad Matta, who leaves Columbus as the program's all-time winningest coach. He comes to Ohio State after spending the last three seasons as coach at Butler, where he went 70-31 and led the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament each of those years.
