It's been smooth sailing for new men's basketball coach Chris Holtmann thus far. His team is 2-0 and hosts Texas Southern tomorrow night.
Wednesday, Holtmann put in the yeoman's work required to increase the student culture around the hoops program, which had dwindled in recent years. He spent his lunch hour buying Cane's for students:
ATTENTION ALL OSU STUDENTS: Hurry up and get to @Raising_Canes on High St! Coach @ChrisHoltmann will be buying student lunches until 12:40pm

According to 11W tipster Mark Smaldino, when asked what Holtmann preferred, a side of coleslaw or an extra slice of toast, the coach replied, "Bread all the way."
Naturally, Buckeye left tackle Jamarco Jones wanted in on the deal:
Can he buy a football player lunch too or is that a violation? Asking for a friend https://t.co/8H9dppXQmG

OSU Director of Compliance Paia LaPalombara confirmed NCAA rules allow Holtmann to purchase a big box combo no slaw extra toast (The One True Cane's Order) at an event open to all students.
Regardless, Buckeye students that accepted the offer of fried chicken must now turn up for multiple games this season. Sacred fowl laws date back before America.
