Ohio State overcame a slow start and a second-half arena evacuation night to knock off Appalachian State, 80-67, on Saturday night.
The Buckeyes were led by forward Keita Bates-Diop, who poured in 18 points, pulled down eight rebounds and blocked three shots. Forward Jae'Sean Tate, meanwhile, finished with 19 points to lead all scorers.
Ohio State is back in action against The Citadel on Tuesday night. Tip off at the Jerome Schottenstein Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.
