Ohio State overcame a suspension and a slow start on Sunday afternoon to knock off Illinois, 75-67.
With senior guard Kam Williams out indefinitely thanks to a violation of team rules, the Buckeyes relied even more upon junior forward Keita Bates-Diop. He scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for his 10th double double of the season.
Senior forward Jae'Sean Tate finished the game with 11 points, six rebounds and three assists, while freshman center Kaleb Wesson added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State is back in action on Wednesday at Purdue. Tip off from West Lafayette is set for 8:30 p.m. on BTN.
