The men's basketball team is far removed from all the drama surrounding the football program as the team began a 10-day trip to Spain on Wednesday.

The Buckeyes arrived in Madrid and took a guided tour of the city on Thursday, including the Puerta Del Sol and Plaza Mayor – two of the city’s main squares. They also got to see the world's second-largest bullfighting arena.

The team got to its first taste of the cities culture and people. Here are some sights and sounds from the early portions of their trip, courtesy of Ohio State athletics and their various social media accounts.

Joey Lane, who's running the team's social media accounts during the trip, had a bit of situational awareness.

It's refreshing to see that they even had to wait for their bags at the carousel, just like everybody else.

The Buckeyes got a chance to interact with some of the locals as well, even getting topped by some children in soccer.

I eagerly await the photographs from Jallow's camera.

After a day in Madrid, the Buckeyes are visiting medieval Toledo, the former Spanish capital, on Thursday.

On Friday, the Buckeyes will tour Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, one of the largest stadiums in the world and home to Spanish soccer club Real Madrid before playing their first game of the trip against the Madrid Generals.
