Mike Conley was rumored to be on his way out of Memphis via a trade before the deadline, but that deadline has passed and Conley is still a Grizzly.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported that Conley would remain in Memphis, reporting that the Grizzlies "discussed deals with multiple teams, but ultimately decided to hold onto their franchise point guard."
A factor in Conley remaining with the team is the value he has as a veteran leader, ESPN's Tim MacMahon reports.
One factor in the Grizzlies not trading Mike Conley: They value him as a mentor for Jaren Jackson Jr., a 19-year-old being groomed as the future face of the franchise. Conley was not eager to leave Memphis.

The Grizzlies didn't sit out the trade deadline completely, though. Memphis traded Marc Gasol to the Raptors in exchange for Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, CJ Miles and a 2024 second-round pick. The also traded Shelvin Mack to the Hawks in exchange for Tyler Dorsey.
