Ohio State signee DJ Carton become the first Bettendorf (Iowa) High School player to ever be named Mr. Basketball in Iowa. He was a co-winner of the award that was announced Monday evening with Upper Iowa-bound Jake Hilmer.

Carton averaged 24.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and six assists in his senior season, which wrapped up with a loss in the Class 4A substate finals.
Before heading to Ohio State, Carton will take part in the Iverson Classic, teaming up with a fellow future Buckeye, E.J. Liddell.
Carton, Liddell and Alonzo Gaffney make up the top-ranked 2019 recruiting class in the Big Ten. Carton, a four-star point guard, is the No. 28 overall prospect in the country and the fourth-ranked point guard.
