For the first time this season, Ohio State's ranking dropped.
Less than 24 hours after losing to Minnesota, the Buckeyes fell from No. 3 to No. 5 in the latest Associated Press top-25 poll that dropped on Monday afternoon. Previously this year, they had risen in the poll in all but one week.
Four other Big Ten teams – No. 7 Maryland, No. 14 Michigan, No. 15 Michigan State and No. 23 Penn State – were ranked in the top 25.
Villanova, which lost to Ohio State, came in at No. 18 in the poll. After falling to Wofford, North Carolina dropped out of the top 25, putting a damper on one of the Buckeyes' best wins.
Despite falling in the AP poll, the Buckeyes remained at No. 1 in the KenPom ratings. It also opened at No. 1 in this season's NET rankings on Monday.
Ohio State has a chance to bounce back from its first loss of the season against Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. at the Schottenstein Center. A matchup with No. 6 Kentucky in Las Vegas as part of the CBS Sports Classic will follow on Saturday.
