Ohio State blows out Indiana, 38-15. Now, it's time to do the same to That Team Up North.
When people said men's basketball scheduling in the 2020-21 season would be an adventure, they were correct.
Three days before the CBS Sports Classic, an opponent change for Ohio State was made. Instead of facing North Carolina on Saturday, the Buckeyes will take on UCLA at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
The decision, announced on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Ohio State's game that evening with Purdue, was made with coronavirus protocols in mind, per the CBS Sports Classic.
"The revised schedule was created to more closely align COVID-19 testing protocols between the competing programs and their respective conferences," the CBS Sports Classic said in a statement.
Men's basketball teams in the Big Ten and Pac-12 do daily antigen testing, but the SEC and ACC do not. It's unclear which teams or conferences pushed for the change.
The event now begins with North Carolina-Kentucky at 2 p.m., which will be followed by Ohio State-UCLA at 4:15 p.m.
