After falling in back-to-back weeks to close out the regular season, Ohio State made a move back up the rankings in the final AP poll of the season.

Ohio State is ranked No. 7 in the final AP Top 25 of the year, which was released on Monday afternoon, less than 24 hours after the Buckeyes were selected as a No. 2 seed (and the No. 6 overall seed) in the NCAA Tournament.

The move back up the rankings comes after the Buckeyes snapped a four-game losing streak by winning three games in the Big Ten Tournament, defeating Minnesota and two other ranked teams – No. 20 Purdue and No. 4 Michigan – before losing to No. 2 Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament final.

Just like in the NCAA Tournament field, four of the top eight teams in the AP Top 25 hail from the Big Ten, with No. 8 Iowa joining Illinois, Michigan and Ohio State.

The Associated Press does not release a final poll after the NCAA Tournament, so this is the last AP ranking of the year.
