Maintaining focus and intensity for a midweek matchup against unranked Towson in between two Big Ten games is a challenge in itself for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State has already had a couple close calls against mid-major opponents, but the Buckeyes can't afford to lose any momentum after back-to-back wins over Duke and Penn State over the past week. Freshman guard Meechie Johnson Jr. said Tuesday that the team is not taking the matchup lightly, even if it appears to be a drop-off in competition on paper.
"(Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann) said they're a very good team," Johnson said. "Actually about a week or two ago, Coach actually told us, 'This stretch for us is gonna be tough.' He's challenging us as a team to see how we are made and how respond coming from Xavier to Florida just to all of this stuff. I haven't seen the film on Towson yet, but just seeing how they did Kent State – who's also a good team – yesterday at their house, they're coming into our house tomorrow, and we just gotta be ready for it."
Both Johnson and Buckeye assistant coach Jake Diebler previewed the matchup at a press conference at the Schottenstein Center Tuesday, and you can check out everything the pair said in the videos above and below.
