Chris Holtmann is thrilled about his 2023 recruiting class, and he has every right to be.
The Buckeyes signed the No. 5 class in the country on Wednesday with a group that includes three four-star, top-50 overall prospects (Scotty Middleton, Taison Chatman and Devin Royal) and one three-star recruit (Austin Parks).
Holtmann discussed all four players during a Wednesday press conference at the Schottenstein Center.
"It's an exciting day for us, given the fact that we have assembled a really exciting recruiting class and finally get a chance to answer questions about those four guys and talk about them. It's a really exceptional class on paper, but more importantly, I think it's another really good class, it's back-to-back really good classes that I think fit us, fit our program, fit the kind of versatility and size that we're looking to add," Holtmann said. "So we're really excited about Devin, Scotty, Austin and Taison."
Holtmann also previewed Thursday's matchup with Charleston Southern, scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. tip at the Schott, and said Eugene Brown (concussion) will be sidelined for the second straight game.
Ohio State guards Sean McNeil and Bruce Thornton also addressed media members at Wednesday's presser, and you can check out everything they said in the video below:
