Seth Towns' college basketball career may not be over after all.
The Columbus native and Ivy League Player of the Year at Harvard, who transferred to Ohio State ahead of the 2020-21 season, entered the transfer portal Monday.
A familiar name entered the portal earlier this evening, per source: Seth Towns. Hasn't played since 2020-21 season with Ohio State, has missed three entire seasons with knee and back injuries over course of his career. First played college hoops in 2016 at Harvard. 2018 Ivy POY.

The Northland High School alum enjoyed breakout success in his second season at Harvard (2017-18) before knee injuries cost him his next two full seasons. Towns then committed to Ohio State, where he played 25 games in 2020-21, averaging 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in 10.8 minutes per game for his hometown Buckeyes.
But Towns never played in another game for Ohio State. After undergoing back surgery the following preseason, Towns missed the entire 2021-22 season. Then this past September, Towns announced he was "stepping away" from the Ohio State basketball program, citing "a few setbacks this summer and some tough conversations with my coaches and medical personnel."

At the time, Towns' statement seemed to make any college basketball future unlikely. But the 6-foot-8 forward appears to be ready to resume his career on the hardwood at a collegiate third landing spot.
