On July 12, 2022, Liddell tore his ACL in the third quarter of a Summer League contest against the Atlanta Hawks and was ruled out indefinitely. Liddell, who signed a two-way contract with the Pelicans last October, did not appear in an NBA game during his rookie season.
Liddell, who averaged 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game across 92 appearances for the Buckeyes in three years (2019-22), is set to return to action in the Summer League Friday in a 4:30 p.m. matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on NBA TV.
