Ohio State will be without its top sharpshooter and second-leading scorer when it faces Michigan State on Sunday.

Jamison Battle, who was questionable entering the contest with an ankle injury, took the floor for warm-ups in sweatpants and did not participate.

An Ohio State spokesperson later confirmed to Eleven Warriors that Battle is out against the Spartans.

Battle paces all Big Ten sharpshooters by knocking down 44% of his three-point attempts on the season, making an average of 2.7 triples per game for the Buckeyes. His 14.2 points per game are second only to Bruce Thornton on the squad, and he's also second in rebounding with 5.1 boards per contest.

In his place, Ohio State will likely lean on freshman forward Devin Royal, its next man up at Battle's power forward spot, or freshman wing Scotty Middleton if it wants to play a smaller lineup.

The Buckeyes tip off at Michigan State at 4 p.m. They will be attempting to snap a school-record 17-game road losing streak against the 17-10 Spartans.
