Ohio State's got a trio of marquee SEC opponents on its slate for its first season under Jake Diebler.
The Buckeyes announced 10 of their 11 nonconference games for the 2024-25 season on Thursday. The three biggest draws are a neutral site matchup against Texas in Las Vegas for the Hall of Fame Series that is set to open the campaign on Nov. 4, a road tilt with Texas A&M on Nov. 15 and a showdown with Kentucky in New York City's Madison Square Garden for the CBS Sports Classic on Dec. 21. All three teams made the NCAA Tournament last season.
Ohio State will be seeking revenge against Texas A&M when the two sides meet as the Aggies defeated the Buckeyes 73-66 to hand them their first loss of the 2023-24 season on Nov. 10.
ACC foe Pitt on Nov. 29, the only matchup of the four that Ohio State will play at home, rounds out the power conference opponents on the non-conference schedule released by the Buckeyes. That tilt will be the first of a home-and-home series between OSU and the Panthers over the next two years.
An 11th non-conference neutral-site game will be announced at a later date. Season tickets are now on sale for Buckeye basketball with single-game and group package tickets to be made available in the fall.
