It's a gorgeous sight to see the Buckeyes outclassing a fellow Big Ten team in February.

Ohio State led by at least 15 points for the entire second half vs. Washington after a tear of 10 consecutive made field goals toward the end of the first half gave the Buckeyes a dominant advantage.

The Buckeyes (15-10, 7-7 Big Ten) shot a gaudy 58.2% from the field and 61.1% from 3, dismantling the Huskies (12-12, 3-10) 93-69 on Wednesday night in Value City Arena.

OHIO STATE 51 42 93

Ohio State's surging guard trio of John Mobley Jr., Micah Parrish and Bruce Thornton piloted the scoring efforts once again, racking up 21, 21 and 17 points, respectively. Thornton added a game-high five assists.

After calls for more production from the position, center tandem Aaron Bradshaw and Sean Stewart had one of their best outings this season. Bradshaw collected 12 points, three rebounds, a block and a steal while Stewart added six points, seven rebounds and two blocks. The Buckeyes outrebounded the Huskies 34-22.

Zoom Diallo, Tyler Davis and DJ Davis each collected 14 points for Washington in a losing effort.

The Buckeyes were on fire from the field in the first half, shooting 66.7% both overall and from 3-point range.

Ohio State catalyzed its offense with defense in the first five minutes of the game. Three steals led to six of the Buckeyes' first eight points in that timeframe before John Mobley Jr. touched nothing but nylon on a 3-pointer to give them an 11-8 lead at the first media timeout.

That marked the beginning of an 8-0 run capped by a second triple from Mobley, who hit it off the dribble with a hand in his face on this occasion. Harris answered with five straight points but Buckeye center Aaron Bradshaw followed with his fifth 3-pointer of the season.

Three points the old-fashioned way from Thornton stretched the Ohio State advantage to nine at 24-15, then began the most blistering scoring stint for the Buckeyes on Wednesday.

A Sean Stewart tip-in started a string of not one, not two, but 10 consecutive made field goals by the Buckeyes including distance makes from Mobley, Parrish, Bradshaw, Parrish again with a foul and Mobley again. Six OSU turnovers in the stretch ensured its lead didn't get too out of hand, but the edge still grew to its largest thus far at 51-34.

Ohio State carried a 51-36 lead into the locker room.

Second Half

A Stewart layup and Thornton floater pushed Ohio State's lead past 20 early in the second half. After back-to-back triples from Washington forward Wilhelm Breidenbach, Stewart awoke the Buckeyes' defense with a swat all the way to St. John Arena.

Back-to-back close-range baskets from Bradshaw and Evan Mahaffey made it a 68-47 ballgame at the under-12 media timeout. Thornton came right back and nailed two free throws, then his trademark step-back 3-pointer to extend the edge to 73-50.

A breakaway layup from Mobley and 3-pointer from Parrish fueled an 11-2 Ohio State run to extend the lead to 30 points. The Buckeyes emptied their bench a few minutes later.

The only thing that left the Schottenstein Center crowd somewhat disappointed was that the Buckeyes fell one assist short of free Chick-fil-A for those in attendance. There were otherwise plenty of cheers as they coasted out a 93-69 win.

What's Next

Ohio State faces archrival Michigan in Value City Arena on Sunday. Coming away victorious will be no easy task as the No. 20 Wolverines are currently first in the Big Ten. Tipoff is at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.

Game Notes

  • It's the first time in Bradshaw's career that he's made multiple 3-pointers in a game.
  • Wednesday was Ohio State's first Quad 3 game for NCAA Tournament selection purposes. All other games this year have been Quad 1, 2 or 4 for the Buckeyes. It's the first non-Quad 1 or 2 game for the Buckeyes in Big Ten play.
  • While it was the Buckeyes' first time playing the Huskies in a conference game, the schools had actually played 12 times prior to Wednesday's contest. Washington holds the all-time edge 8-5.
