Ohio State blows out Indiana, 38-15. Now, it's time to do the same to That Team Up North.
Ohio State continues to work the Florida pipeline, as Bishop Kenny (Jacksonville, Fl) offensive lineman Tyler Jordan is the latest to pick up a Buckeye offer. After exchanging a few Facebook messages with Coach Hinton, Tyler gave him a call and was informed that he was being offered a scholarship.
"It means a lot because a school like Ohio State with its tradition and fan following is one of the top programs in the country," Jordan told 11W.
Jordan has really been blowing up the past couple of weeks, picking up offers from Ohio State, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Maryland and N.C. State all since the beginning of February.
The last couple of weeks have been "unexpected, amazing and crazy," said Jordan. "It makes me feel good that my hard work is paying off."
Growing up in Florida, Tyler is pretty familiar with Urban Meyer: "I grew up a Gator fan watching him win championships and now that he's at Ohio State, he's brought that with him."
Naturally, the Gators are going to be tough to beat for Jordan's services , as they offered him just this week. "I grew up as a Gator fan and a large majority of my family are Gators. So they were excited [about the Florida offer] but still want what's best for me in the end," said Jordan.
Still, Tyler doesn't have any leaders yet. "Right now I have no favorites. Keeping all of my options open at this point," he said.
Tyler is scheduled to visit Georgia this weekend, Florida on Monday and is planning on visiting Ohio State sometime this spring. Tyler said the most important factor for him when picking a school is going to be finding a place with "a good balance of education and playing opportunity." Tyler is hoping to make a decision some time this summer or early fall.
