The Hurry Up is your nightcap of Ohio State recruiting news, catching you up on the day’s events with an ear on the ground for what’s next.

JOHNSON, JR READY TO MAKE HIS COMMITMENT

One of the earliest offers at wide receiver in the 2017 class for the Buckeyes, Calabasas, California's Keyshawn Johnson, Jr. has a date in mind for his college decision.

Johnson, who has made a number of visits to Ohio State in the last two years, will be deciding from a handful of high-major offers, but it appears that Nebraska is the runaway leader at this point. Mike Riley was an assistant coach on the USC teams that Johnson's father starred on and it's not a surprise that their relationship has played a major role in his son's recruitment thus far.

Ohio State's involvement with Johnson has been sparse in recent times as they've turned their wide receiver focus to other players.

WHILE WE'RE AT CALABASAS

Johnson's teammate, Darnay Holmes, a five-star cornerback at Calabasas who has also visited Ohio State, seems to trending away from the Buckeyes, though there has been no let up from the Scarlet and Gray side.

From RecruitingNewGuru.com:

Right now Stanford, UCLA, Ohio State, Nebraska, Florida, and Michigan are coming at me hard. A lot of schools are coming harder as they start looking at their boards and have time to shoot out DM’s telling me to give me a call. Those are the main schools.

Stanford is the team that has, according to sources out west, surged into the lead for Holmes. He's expected to make a college decision on June 23rd, but did tell RNG that the Buckeyes remain in his final seven schools.

The country's sixth-ranked prospect will visit Arizona next weekend and he'll be back in Palo Alto on the first of April. He's made two different visits to Nebraska with Johnson in the last two months.

SHAUN WADE LEADS PRO IMPACT TO 7-ON-7 WIN

Even if his commitment is more tenuous than any other in the 2017 class, there's a reason Ohio State is working so hard to hold on to the pledge of five-star cornerback commitment Shaun Wade. The country's 12th-ranked prospect, a 6-foot-1, 180-pounder, is really good at football.

This past weekend, Wade and his 7-on-7 team, ProImpact, took on all comers at the IMG tournament, and won. Wade turned some heads when he donned Alabama shorts at the tourney, though Wade continues to say he's "100-percent" committed to the Buckeyes.

Wade talked with two members of the 247Sports recruiting team, Keith Niebuhr and Kipp Adams, on the SEC Recruiting Buzz podcast.

The Montgomery, Alabama native talks about his trips to Ohio State, the push being made by Alabama and Florida and more.

The Buckeyes will have their work cut out for them if they want to keep Wade, but doing so is absolutely a priority for the Ohio State staff. The longtime Buckeye pledge will be back on the road this weekend as he's expected to visit Florida State.

CLARK DISCUSSES HIS GROWTH AS A QUARTERBACK

Yesterday we took a look at an interview with Todd Sibley that was done by Scout.com analyst Bill Greene following a Tuesday night workout session in Canton. Sibley's quarterback teammate at Akron's Archbishop Hoban, Danny Clark, was also at the event and spoke to Greene as well.

Clark, the country's 12th-ranked pro-style quarterback in 2017, will be all over the camp circuit this spring and summer working on his game and trying to prepare for his senior season at Hoban.
