The Hurry Up is your nightly dose of updates from the Ohio State football recruiting trail, keeping tabs on the latest from commits and targets from around the country.
TAKING ANOTHER TEXAN?
Cuero, Texas, four-star wide receiver Jordan Whittington included Ohio State in his Top 14 on Saturday alongside Arizona, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU and UCLA.

“[The Buckeyes made it because of] the way they help the players outside of football and their support system, [as well as] the offense and tradition they have of getting people where they want to be,” Whittington told Eleven Warriors. He that he talks with wide receivers coach Zach Smith and assistant director of player personnel Eron Hodges almost daily.
The 6-foot-1, 193-pound Whittington is considered the 10th-best wideout and No. 57 prospect overall in the Class of 2019. He doesn't have an offer from each school listed but mentioned them for good reason.
“I want to show the schools who haven't offered that their offer won't be just something given [and] that they have a chance of getting me,” Whittington said.
Whittington, the nephew of former Oakland Raiders running back Arthur Whittington, racked up 1,825 all-purpose yards and 21 touchdowns to help the Gobblers — such a great nickname — to the state semifinals. He hopes to make it to Columbus for an official visit during his senior year.
YOUR DAILY UPDATE FROM GEORGIA
Ohio State also made the cut for Alpharetta, Georgia, three-star cornerback Jaycee Horn when he trimmed his list of nearly 40 offers to 15 on Friday night. He listed the Buckeyes alongside Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Caorlina, Tennessee, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

The 6-foot, 174-pound Horn is considered the 55th-best cornerback and No. 626 prospect overall in the Class of 2018. He recorded 29 tackles, 24 pass deflections and six interceptions to help the Raiders to the state playoffs last season.
Horn grew up a big-time fan of former Ohio State and current Denver Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby, so the Buckeyes made quite the splash with their offer last week. He's already been to campus once before and is looking forward to taking an official visit this fall.
A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION
Ohio State offered Minneapolis, Minnesota, Edina Senior offensive tackle Quinn Carroll during his unofficial visit for Junior Day in late January, and he can't wait to make a return trip to campus this spring.
“They're doing a great job. I've been talking with coach [Greg] Studrawa and coach [Urban] Meyer each week,” Carroll told Eleven Warriors. “It's always a pleasure being able to talk to a coach of his caliber.”
The 6-foot-6, 280-pound Carroll is not yet ranked by any major recruiting sites but is undoubtedly one of the top offensive line prospects in the Class of 2019. He comes from a long line of college athletes, as his dad, Jay, played tight end at Minnesota in the early 1980s and his brother, Collin, was a long snapper at Virginia Tech.
Carroll is about to embark on a weeklong trip across the country to check out Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech during spring break. He hopes to narrow down his 20 offers shortly thereafter.
GREAT BALLS OF FIRE
According to BamaOnLine's Hank South, Ohio State has offered a scholarship to Ferriday, Louisiana, four-star defensive tackle Dare Rosenthal.
The 6-foot-7, 290-pound Rosenthal is considered the 11th-best defensive tackle and No. 115 prospect overall in the Class of 2018, but he'll most likely transition to offensive tackle at the next level. A one-time Alabama commit Rosenthal holds nearly 30 offers from programs such as Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
Rosenthal recorded 42 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, seven sacks and two pass breakups last season to help the Trojans to the state quarterfinals. Coincidentally, he was named to The Natchez Democrat All-Metro First-Team for both offensive and defensive tackle by a former coworker of mine.
