Some of the Midwest's most talented prospects will descend upon the Cleveland Browns' practice facility in Berea on Sunday morning for Nike Football's The Opening Regional.
The event is headlined by Ohio State running back commit Jaelen Gill, who — in his first camp action since suffering a fractured fibula in September — will be looking to punch his ticket to the finals for the second-consecutive year. Though it's geared toward showcasing rising seniors, Gill was one of six underclassmen invited to the event last summer.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
TIME | EVENT |
---|---|
9-10 A.M. | ATHLETE REGISTRATION* |
9:30-11:55 A.M. | NIKE FOOTBALL RATING TESTING* |
10:30-11:55 A.M. | ELITE 11 QUARTERBACK TRAINING |
12-12:30 P.M. | CAMP INTROS AND WARM UP |
12:30-2 P.M. | POSITION DRILLS |
2-3:30 P.M. | ONE-ON-ONE DRILLS, HALF SKELETON AND LINEMAN CHALLENGE |
*Not open to media
After the event, roughly a dozen prospects will earn an invitation to The Opening Finals, which will take place at Nike's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, in either late June or early July.
If the above-mentioned Gill does "Get Open," he will join fellow future Buckeye Jaiden Woodbey, who earned an invitation last week following his performance at the Los Angeles Regional.
