Before descending upon Columbus, the members of Ohio State's Supreme '18 recruiting class have one final shot at glory under the Friday night lights.
WHAT INJURY?
Ohio State four-star quarterback commit Emory Jones faced many questions about his accuracy and consistancy this spring and summer, as he struggled with both on the camp circuit following a season-ending shoulder injury. Back and better than ever, Jones led Franklin, Georgia, Heard County to a 42-21 over Central on Friday night.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Jones completed 6-of-11 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 37 yards with his feet. The first score came from nine yards out just minutes into the game, and the second was a 77-yard bomb to put the Braves up 14-0. With seconds remaining in the first half, Jones found the end zone for a third time on an 8-yard slant.
With the game well in hand and a 28-0 halftime lead, Jones handed the ball off to running back Alijah Huzzie for most of the second half. Heard County moved to 4-1 with the win.
PUT THE TEAM ON HIS BACK
Jaelen Gill said in his weekly notebook that Westerville South “had a good week of practice and we’re hoping it translates to the field.”
It did.
The Ohio State five-star running back commit rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries to help the Wildcats post a 26-0 shutout of Upper Arlington on Friday night.
Westerville South took the lead when it recovered a fumble two minutes into the game, but wasn't able to pull away until the second half. Gill capped a 14-play, 63-yard, 7-minute drive with a 5-yard touchdown run to extend the lead to 14-0.
Gill then tore through the Golden Bears' defense on the Wildcats' next possession, bursting through the hole for 20 yards on his first carry and then 55 yards for the touchdown on the very next play. He added an 11-yard score with just over eight minutes left for the final score.
Westerville South is now 2-2.
A BEATDOWN
Los Angeles Dorsey has not had an easy start to its 2017 season. The Dons have opened with three-consecutive Top 25 opponents — Calabasas, Gardena Serra and St. John Bosco — and it showed it Saturday night's 69-14 loss to the Braves in the The Brothers in Arms Classic at Mission Viejo High.
Bosco scored on its first four offensive drives and led 35-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Braves also scored twice on defense in the first half, including an interception that was pitched to Ohio State four-star safety commit Jaiden Woodbey for the touchdown.
Bosco, which moved to 3-1, played its backups for the second half.

New to this year's prep tracker is the inclusion of every commit's schedule. We'll keep track of their team's records and compile their stats for a better scope of how their respective seasons are unfolding, as opposed to a simple week-by-week recap.
