Supreme '18 Tracker: Emory Jones' Arm Was on Display for Heard County While Taron Vincent Helps IMG Survive

Before descending upon Columbus, the members of Ohio State's Supreme '18 recruiting class have one final shot at glory under the Friday night lights.

GET YOU A QUARTERBACK WHO CAN DO BOTH

Ohio State four-star quarterback commit Emory Jones has been known to do some special things with his legs, hence his ranking as a dual-threat prospect. In Friday night's 35-14 win over Temple, it was his arm that led Heard County.

Tied at 7-all at the half, the Braves let it fly. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Jones had several long passes on drives that were capped off with three short touchdown runs. Jones finally found paydirt, though, when he found senior wideout Jalen Moreland for a 69-yard score.

Jones completed 12-of-19 passes for 338 yards and one touchdown for the Braves, who improved to 5-1 on the season. The team will now have back-to-back open weeks before taking on last year's state semifinalist, Callaway.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE PLAYOFF REMATCH

Ohio State three-star running back commit Master Teague did not play one week ago after tweaking his ankle one game prior, but Blackman rolled to an easy win nonetheless. There was no reason for him to suit up with Friday's highly anticipated matchup with Oakland on the horizon.

The Blaze entered with a two-game offensive scoring drought (21-7 and 38-0) in games that ultimately decided region titles, and Teague was determined to end that quickly. His first carry of the game went for 70 yards, and he followed that up with a 5-yard scoring scamper to end that streak and give the home team the early lead.

Teague added his second touchdown run of the night right before intermission, at which time Blackman led 21-14. But the Patriots responded in the second half, scoring 28 unanswered to get a 42-21 win. A pair of fourth-quarter interceptions did the Blaze in.

TESTED, BUT STILL UNBEATEN

IMG Academy entered Friday night's game against Miami Central on a 31-game win streak, not having lost in more than three years. In fact, the Ascenders were 40-3 since first field a team in 2013. But trailing 9-3 at the half, the program saw its chance at a mythical national championship slipping away.

Following a key third-down stop by Ohio State five-star defensive tackle commit Taron Vincent, IMG blocked a punt with Central pinned deep in its own territory. Clemson defensive end Xavier Thomas picked it up for the score to give the Ascenders a brief 10-9 lead.

On the ensuing drive, the Rockets regained the lead on a 42-yard run. But the Ascenders answered back and never looked back when running back Trey Sanders housed one from 65 yards out. Ohio State five-star running back target Noah Cain finished off the 24-15 win, which was delayed nearly two hours thanks to lightning, with a one-yard scoring run of his own.
