Last June, Ohio State running back Master Teague III came to Columbus with a plan to earn an offer from the staff during a one-day camp at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
With head coach Urban Meyer watching, Teague ran a 4.31-second 40-yard dash, leaped 42.5 inches and bench pressed 225 pounds with such ease the staff made him stop after only 16 repetitions. He pledged his services to the Buckeyes just two days later.
While not every prospect that attends Ohio State's one-day camps this summer will have such fortune, it does give them an opportunity to meet with and gain instruction from the Buckeyes' staff while performing on the same practices field as the actual team.
The program announced its camp schedule this evening, with the dates as follows:
- Monday, June 4, and Tuesday, June 5: Youth Camp for kids entering grades 5-8
- Friday, June 8: 1-Day Camp for kids entering grades 9-12
- Tuesday, June 12: 1-Day Camp for kids entering grades 9-12
- Saturday, June 16: 1-Day Camp for kids entering grades 9-12
- Saturday, June 16: Kicking and long snapping camp for kids entering 5-12
Stay tuned to Eleven Warriors for more information about these camps, as well as a list of those prospects expected to attend.
