Ohio State commit Garrett Wilson, a five-star wide receiver from Austin, Texas, has agreed to give Eleven Warriors exclusive access into his senior season with the Cavaliers.
He'll join us every week to assess his own play, as well as his team's, while giving Ohio State fans continuous updates as his senior prep season rolls along.
Wilson's third entry comes just hours before Lake Travis hosts Lehman in a District 25 matchup. A win would be the Cavaliers' 14th in their last 15 tries, dating back to 2017.
Last Friday was just another day – or first half – at the office for Garrett Wilson. In a 66-21 win over Austin, Wilson had seven catches for 94 yards and a touchdown in limited action, upping his season totals to 29 receptions for 480 yards and eight touchdowns.
In five games, that may not seem like too much of an output from the nation's No. 14 ranked prospect. But when you consider the fact that Wilson has spent most of the second half of each game this season standing next to his coach on the sidelines, it makes sense.
Put simply, with Wilson and their starters on the field, the Cavaliers are beating opponents so handily that, in order to reduce their scoring output, they have to take them out.
Wilson isn't a fan.
"The only playing half games has more cons than pros to me," he said. "It’s always cool to see your teammates who usually don’t get much time get a chance though."
Unfortunately for Wilson, he'll be watching his teammates from the get-go this Friday. He suffered a minor back injury that will keep him out but says he'll be back for Week 7's matchup with Westlake.
There is, however, good news in Wilson's world ... Jameson Williams' commitment to Ohio State, a fellow 2019 wide receiver from Cardinal Ritter College Prep (St. Louis, Mo.).
"I was super excited to hear Jameson was joining the Buckeyes," Wilson said. "He’s someone I had been working on way back from the Rivals Five Star Challenge, back in the summer. So it was huge to see someone with his ability committing."
As he said, Williams was just one top-level prospect that Wilson has talked to about coming to Columbus. He's been the perfect off the field ambassador for the Buckeyes without even knowing it. In effect, the Ohio State faithful have rallied around him.
And he hasn't even donned scarlet and gray yet.

"I have noticed the Buckeye fans have taken me in. I recruit the way I do because I’m going to Ohio State to win a national championship," Williams said. "To do that, it takes bringing in the best players at each position to fit our scheme in Columbus. It’s important to me."
It's also important that he continues to better his game day by day.
He's certainly dangerous with the football in his hands, he has the ability to beat defenders one-on-one and he makes everything flow in an offense. But having said that, he also knows there's so much more he can work on – the mark of a future star.
"To become the best college player I can be, I want to get up to 195 pounds or so to sustain hits I’ll take at the next level," Wilson said. "I also want to tighten up on just about every part of my game. I’m still super raw at the position, having played for only two years to this point."
After earning a 27-26 win at Penn State last weekend – a victory that Wilson watched closely – Ohio State hosts Indiana this weekend in its Homecoming game. Wilson, however, is still pumped up about watching the Buckeyes stun the Nittany Lions.
"Watching the OSU-PSU game was awesome," he said. "It was cool to see the environment. I was extremely nervous watching but was thrilled to see them pull through and win."
