As it stands, Ohio State currently has four offensive linemen committed in the 2023 class.
The Buckeyes are likely content to head into National Signing Day with that number, barring a possible addition of a premier offensive tackle. Five-star Samson Okunlola would certainly fit that billing, and the 6-foot-5, 305-pound offensive lineman confirmed to Eleven Warriors Monday that he’s at least considering visiting Columbus later this fall.
“I might,” Okunlola responded via text when asked if he’s planning on visiting Ohio State this year.
Considering Okunlola didn’t take a trip to Columbus in the spring or the summer, getting him on campus is critical if the Buckeyes are going to have any shot in this recruitment. Ohio State would probably love to get the Massachusetts prospect considered the 15th-best player in the 2023 cycle per 247Sports’ composite rankings on campus for the final regular season game of the year against Michigan. Especially considering signing day isn't too far off from that game. But it will be a wait-and-see approach in the coming months until he confirms a visit with the Buckeyes.
In the meantime, Ohio State extended offers to three players Monday, two from the 2024 class and one from the 2025 cycle. We’ll delve into those below.
Colin Simmons
Colin Simmons, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound defensive end from Texas, is the most highly-touted prospect of the three players offered Monday. He’s considered the 16th-best prospect and second-best edge in the 2024 cycle, and as you’d expect, he has no shortage of offers at his disposal.

Around 43 Division I schools have offered Simmons. This list includes Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Arizona, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and USC. Simmons is the seventh edge prospect in the 2024 class OSU has offered.
He attends Duncanville High School (Duncanville, Texas), the alma mater of Ohio State freshman defensive end Omari Abor, so clearly, that school is doing something right with its development procedures. While helping lead Duncanville to a 14-2 record last season, Simmons played on the opposite side of the defensive line as Abor. Those poor Texas offensive tackles.
Jeremiah McClellan
Simmons isn’t the only recent Buckeye offer hailing from the same high school that a current Ohio State player came from. In four-star Missouri wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan’s case, two current OSU players attended Christian Brothers College (St. Louis, Missouri): Cornerback Cameron Brown and wideout Kamryn Babb.

McClellan is considered the 204th-best prospect and the 29th-best wideout in the 2024 class and has accumulated 24 Division I offers. Some of those schools include Arizona State, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan, Michigan State, Mizzou, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oregon, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Last season, McClellan caught 41 passes for 989 yards and nine touchdowns en route to helping Christian Brothers College win a state championship.
Nasir Wyatt
Nasir Wyatt, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from national powerhouse Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California), is the lone prospect from the 2025 class to be offered by OSU Monday. Wyatt called Ohio State “his dream offer” in his social media announcement.

Wyatt cracked 247Sports’ initial top 100 ranked players in the 2025 class, slotting in as the 49th-ranked prospect. Nine schools have extended an offer to the California prospect, including Arizona, California, Georgia, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Oregon, USC and Utah.
In four games for Mater Dei this season, Wyatt has recorded 14.5 tackles (an eye-popping 10.5 have gone for a loss) with four sacks, three pass deflections and one quarterback hurry.
