Three weeks ago while he was sitting in class, 2024 three-star Michigan offensive lineman Andrew Dennis received a text from Ohio State Director of Recruiting Strategy Nick Murphy.
Murphy expressed to Dennis that OSU was interested in him as a prospect, and hoped to host him on a visit soon. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound offensive lineman was all too eager to visit Columbus and made his first visit to OSU as a recruit Saturday for the Iowa game.

“It was awesome,” Dennis told Eleven Warriors of his visit. “I really liked the people there and liked how everyone was held accountable at all times. Coach Frye was still coaching his guys even when they were up 54-10 with the second string in. The energy they have is so high, everybody is into it and locked in the whole time. The gameday atmosphere is nuts, and seeing how loud everyone gets is awesome.”
While on his visit, Dennis met with OSU graduate assistant Mike Sollenne, Director of High School Relations Ed Terwilliger and offensive line coach Justin Frye. He also spent time in the hour leading up to the game spending time on the sidelines with OSU 2023 offensive lineman commits Luke Montgomery and Austin Siereveld.
“Talking to some of the coaches, I really liked how honest they were,” Dennis said. “They tell how Ohio State is and they don’t sugarcoat it. They’re gonna tell you how it is, and that’s something I really liked. Spending time with the commits was a good thing too.”
Dennis met with Frye on both Saturday and Sunday morning and had a productive discussion with the first-year OSU assistant coach.
“He said they really like me right now,” Dennis said. “They kind of have a different process than other schools. He told me they’ve watched every single snap I’ve had this year and they like what they’re seeing and they’ll be in contact a lot. His way that he likes to recruit is he likes to coach you up on your film the same way as he’d coach you up if you were in college. So you get a feel for how he is as a coach so you’ll see what you like and don’t like about that.”
At Mt. Pleasant High School (Mt. Pleasant, Michigan), Dennis is primarily a tackle but has played every position on the line except center. At his size, he knows he’s likely best slotted for an interior role at the collegiate level.
“I definitely have the ability to get out in space,” Dennis said. “I feel like I’d be really good with the outside zone and getting out in space and pulling. One thing I really take a lot of pride in is my ability to bend, flex and move.”
Currently, Dennis has five Division I offers: Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Miami (OH), Toledo and Western Michigan. He’d love to add an OSU offer to that list someday.
“I’d be pumped, I really like that place,” Dennis said. “They have such high standards and everybody knows that. The way they push themselves against each other to produce the outcome they have is special.”
Hudson enjoyed OSU visit
Five-star Texas wideout Micah Hudson made his first trip to Ohio State on Saturday, and by all accounts, it was a successful visit. Hudson, who picked up his OSU offer in January, told 247Sports he enjoyed his time in Columbus.
“They have a really good culture,” Hudson told 247Sports. “The coaches care about you. The players around you care about you. And they have good networking too.”
Hudson is one of the Buckeyes’ primary targets at wide receiver in the class of 2024. Other priority targets include Jeremiah Smith, Joshisa Trader, Mylan Graham and Tyseer Denmark.
Fletcher has career game
Last week was one of the more impressive performances of 2023 Ohio State running back Mark Fletcher’s career.

The American Heritage (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) prospect handled a career-high 30 carries for 184 yards with two touchdowns in a 35-17 victory over Naples. Fellow OSU commit Brandon Inniss also had a nice game with seven catches for 103 yards. In nine games this season, Fletcher has run for 1,232 yards on 146 carries (8.4 yards per carry) for 12 touchdowns. He’s run for 100 or more yards in six of American Heritage’s nine games en route to helping the Patriots to an 8-1 record.
