It’s not too often that a recruit’s first-ever Division I offer comes from Ohio State.
But that’s exactly what happened with 2026 Ohio offensive lineman Sam Greer on Wednesday, who was given an OSU offer by Ryan Day after he visited Columbus. And hey, considering the last prospect whose first-ever Division I offer was Ohio State turned out to be Mylan Graham, who went from unranked to a five-star wide receiver and an OSU commit, his trajectory looks pretty good.
After a great conversation with @ryandaytime Im blessed to say Ive received my first division 1 offer from THEE Ohio State University!!@OhioStateFB @CoachJFrye @CoachTonyAlford pic.twitter.com/6mre56qPMn

“I felt extremely blessed and excited to get an offer from The Ohio State University,” Greer told Eleven Warriors after picking up his offer. “Coach Day said he wanted to offer me based off my size and athleticism and wanted me to help be a recruiter as well.”
Greer is the second offensive lineman to be offered in the 2026 class, with the other being Avon Lake’s Maxwell Riley. The 6-foot-8, 290-pound prospect is also an efficient basketball player for Archbishop Hoban High School.
Greer plans on making a return trip to OSU in the not-too-distant future, as he plans on being in Columbus for the spring game on April 15. The Archbishop Hoban product says his best on-field attribute early in his prep career is his on-field awareness and leadership.
Max LeBlanc puts OSU in top 4
One of Ohio State’s tight end targets in the 2024 class has narrowed down his recruitment to four schools. Four-star Tennessee prospect Max LeBlanc released a top four on Wednesday consisting of Ohio State, Tennessee, North Carolina and Michigan.

LeBlanc visited OSU on March 30, Michigan on March 29 and Tennessee on March 25. He was offered by the Buckeyes on Jan. 24. Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, LeBlanc is considered the 347th-ranked prospect and 17th-best tight end in the 2024 cycle per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Last season for Baylor High School (Chattanooga, Tennessee), the 6-foot-4, 233-pound LeBlanc caught 39 passes for 695 yards and three touchdowns. He was often utilized as a wide receiver, lining up primarily in the slot and on the outside. On running plays, LeBlanc was also deployed in a traditional tight end position on the line of scrimmage and used as a run blocker.
Spillman includes OSU in top six
Ohio State has made the cut for one of its top linebacker targets in the 2024 class. Four-star Tennessee prospect Edwin Spillman released a top six Thursday that includes Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State, Oklahoma and UAB (who recently hired Spillman's former high school coach, Trent Dilfer).
I would like to thank God and also thank all the coaches that have been recruiting me throughout these past years. I have taken time and consideration in my recruitment and narrowed it down to 6 schools. These are my TOP 6! @Hayesfawcett3 @LAmustangFB pic.twitter.com/kEQ7eJBr9e
— Edwin Spillman (@ESpillman13) April 6, 2023
Spillman has visited Ohio State numerous times over the past few years, as Ohio State offered him after his freshman year after a solid camp performance. Tennessee may be the team to beat for Spillman heading into the summer, but the 6-foot-1, 216-pound linebacker confirmed to Eleven Warriors he'll be taking an official visit to OSU this summer.
Eddrick Houston to visit OSU Friday
Ohio State will host a top-10 prospect in the 2024 class on Friday as five-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston will make his first visit to Columbus since September, per On3.
Houston, considered the ninth-best prospect and second-ranked defensive lineman in the 2024 class, attends the same high school as one of Ohio State’s top safety targets, KJ Bolden. Friday’s visit is a prime opportunity for OSU defensive line coach Larry Johnson to make another impression on the talented Georgia prospect. His last OSU visit made quite an impression on him.
“He was talking about why he recruited me and different things like that and how I’d fit into their scheme,” Houston told Eleven Warriors of his OSU visit in September. “I’d fit in as an edge rusher. He really wants me if I choose Ohio State to be the best version of myself and not be like all the others that came through here. He’s going to develop me in the way that he knows best, and that will be good for me. He really told me he liked my leadership and how I’m always there to help the younger players and coach them up. The little things he saw about my character and on the field to the younger kids (impressed him).”

Noland's seven finalists are Alabama, Clemson, Arkansas, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas A&M, but the strongest contenders for Noland appear to be OSU, Miami and Texas A&M.
The OSU visit on Saturday went extremely well by all accounts, but there remains plenty of intrigue heading into the top-100 prospect's commitment.
