Ohio State concluded its spring season with its spring game on Saturday, and hosted dozens of recruits in the process.

By all accounts, the weekend was considered a success on the recruiting front, as the Buckeyes landed two commitments in four-star tight end Max LeBlanc and three-star running back Sam Williams-Dixon

Ohio State also made big impressions on a number of recruits that attended the scrimmage at Ohio Stadium as well. Eleven Warriors caught up with 11 players that attended Saturday's spring game to get their thoughts on their visit.

The answers from the players interviewed are below.

  • Deontae Armstrong, 2024 offensive lineman commit: "I loved the energy from start to finish, Buckeye Nation definitely showed out all 75K+ for a spring game! Was absolutely incredible to see that kind of support from the fan base. I thought the game itself was great and it was good watching the coaching staff coach and go over adjustments on the sidelines and during the game."
  • Marc Nave, 2024 offensive lineman commit: "It was a great experience being there as a Buckeye for the first time with all the fans and the electric environment. I had a great time. The fans came to support like crazy with 75,000 people in attendance. It was awesome and I can’t wait for the fall."
  • Ian Moore, 2024 offensive lineman commit: "I thought the atmosphere was great. I’ve been to a couple spring games in my recruitment but Ohio State shines as the best one I’ve been to and I think it’s because of our great fan base. There was 80,000 people that showed up for basically a practice which is just crazy."
  • Reggie Powers, 2024 safety: "My visit went well, the atmosphere was awesome and I couldn’t have enjoyed myself any more. It was great going and seeing the guys compete again and can’t wait to be back."
  • Ryan Howerton, 2024 offensive lineman: "It was a great visit that was only supposed to be on Saturday but the coaches ended up allowing me to come up on Friday and get a one-on-one talk with coach Frye. He talked to me about how he goes about the recruiting process and what Ohio State football is really built on. I got to take a photo shoot in the gear and it was a great time. On Saturday, we got to watch the game and go on the field to watch the players warm up, which was cool since I got to see what they did and implement it into my own warm-ups. The actual scrimmage was good too. It was just overall a great experience and I'll definitely try to get back up there sometime!"
  • Ryan Montgomery, 2025 quarterback: "The visit was great. It was very surreal being able to see my brother all geared up and playing for the first time in the shoe. That was really cool. I spent most of the morning leading up to the game with coach Dennis and coach Fitch. I also talked with coach Day after the game. They are really going to start ramping up my recruitment and they all showed again I’m a priority."
  • Emaree Winston, 2025 tight end: "I wouldn’t think a spring game would be that lit. Over 75,000 people, those are true fans right there."
  • Sam Greer, 2026 offensive lineman: "I talked to coach Frye and coach Day and they just met some of my family and we also talked about what the game would look like. I thought it was pretty cool and was my first time in The Shoe."
  • Brodie McWhorter, 2026 quarterback: "I really enjoyed my weekend in Columbus! Being back on campus felt awesome. The thing that shocked me the most was the fanbase. For at least 70,000 people to show up and stay for a whole spring game really shows you who they are. During my trip I mostly talked to coach Dennis. He told me he loves my film but before they extend the offer, he wants to watch how I practice and get to know me more as a person, which I totally understand!"
  • Maxwell Riley, 2026 offensive lineman: "Overall my family and I had a great time. The coaches I talked to were Coach Day, Coach Frye, and Coach Sollenne. We talked a lot about track and throwing also how my workouts were going, etc."
  • Canon Pickett, 2026 offensive lineman: "I noticed that Ohio State is a great school to be at. They are great in every aspect and they just seem like the place to be if a player wants to be developed. I talked to coach Frye one-on-one for around 15-20 minutes, and we talked about his coaching style and how to make my game better."
