Ohio State shocked the recruiting world on Sunday night.

After a relatively quiet recruitment with most in the national recruiting industry not giving Justin Scott much of a chance to land with Ohio State initially, the five-star defensive tackle announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Sunday evening, which gave Ohio State arguably its most important commitment of the 2024 cycle to date considering the positional need.

And while Twitter's viewing rates are being limited at an all-time high, that didn't stop various Ohio State football staffers and commits from chiming in after the Chicago prospect's commitment.

Even Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith, the No. 1 ranked wideout in the 2024 class, was caught off guard by the news.

Of course, a lot of credit for Ohio State landing Scott should go to defensive line coach Larry Johnson, who took to Twitter for a victory lap Sunday.

Buckeyes general manager Mark Pantoni was also pleased to see the Buckeyes land a major recruiting victory.

Ohio State freshman wide receiver Carnell Tate was thrilled to see the Buckeyes add another Chicago native to the fold. The pair will be teammates starting next fall.

After his official visit to Michigan, Scott and his family thought they'd be bound for Ann Arbor. Until they took their official visit to Columbus on June 23.

Ohio State four-star running back commit James Peoples found Michigan fans' reaction to the news on social media amusing.

Very few Big Ten offensive linemen will be thrilled to face Scott in the coming years. But Ohio State offensive tackle commit Ian Moore is eager to go against Scott in practice.

Did Scott's commitment get the attention of other Ohio State targets, such as linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa? You be the judge.

Meanwhile, other Ohio State staffers and commits chimed in across social media to celebrate Scott's commitment.
