Ohio State’s top remaining wide receiver target has narrowed down his recruitment.
Four-star Missouri wideout Jeremiah McClellan released a top five on Sunday with Ohio State, Oregon, LSU, Missouri and Georgia all making the cut.

Per 247Sports, McClellan said he plans on making a commitment in August but is unsure of a specific date. The Buckeyes have two five-star wide receivers committed to the 2024 class, including Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham, but would love to take a third wideout, with McClellan being the top remaining target.
“That’s just coach (Brian) Hartline,” McClellan told 247Sports about Ohio State. “When you go there you have to earn everything, nothing is given to you. Their receiver corps and how good they are and how they get them to the league. That’s really one of my biggest things.”
OSU sits in a good position to land McClellan as of now, but will face stiff competition from Oregon and perhaps LSU.
Carter Lowe to visit OSU in July
Another visitor for Ohio State’s BBQ at the end of the month has been confirmed. Four-star 2025 Ohio offensive lineman Carter Lowe confirmed to Eleven Warriors Monday he’d be making the trip on July 28, his first visit to OSU since camping with the Buckeyes on June 12.
“I had a really fun time,” Lowe said of camping with OSU and offensive line coach Justin Frye. “I really come out here to compete every year and get better. And I really think I did that today. We did a lot of different stuff with run blocking that we don't do at my school. It's a lot of new drills I can take home and improve on.
“It was mostly a lot of critiquing, where I want to set and stuff like that. I enjoyed that a lot. I love Coach Frye's coaching. We talk about once every two weeks. I talk to Coach (Tim) Hinton a lot too, and he usually puts him on the phone. We have a really good relationship and I like talking to him a lot. I hope I can build my relationship through these couple years until I commit.”
Lowe has also said he plans on attending the OSU game against Michigan in Ann Arbor, and the Toledo prospect said he believes the Buckeyes and Wolverines will both be viable contenders throughout his recruitment.
“Ohio State and Michigan is always gonna be at the top for me, for sure, though,” Lowe said in June.
Ohio State is the early “leader” for five-star cornerback Devin Sanchez
It’s early in the recruitment process for five-star Texas cornerback Devin Sanchez. Yet, it’s never a bad thing to be considered the frontrunner for a player of his caliber regardless of his recruiting timetable.
In a recent interview with 247Sports, Sanchez said Ohio State is the “leader” for him as of now, with Alabama trailing close behind.
"They are a top contender on my list right now," he told 247Sports. "Ohio State is the leader, but 'Bama is right behind them. It's so close right now, but Ohio State is a little bit ahead."
This aligns with what Sanchez said when he attended of Ohio State’s recruiting camp on June 20, when he openly told reporters OSU and Alabama make more sense for him than Texas schools.
“I tell my parents, coming out of Texas is best for me because I feel like that’s where the best DBs go,” Sanchez said after the camp. “No disrespect to all those Texas schools down there, I go down there, I see them all and have fun. But for me and the talent I have, coming to a school like Ohio State or Alabama, that’s where I’m going to get developed. My plan is to go (to college for) three years like I said.”
A quick programming note
This will be the last Hurry-Up for this week, as I’m taking my final vacation before the season starts and will be venturing to the northern woods of Eagle River, Wisconsin for a bit of R&R. The rest of the 11W staff will keep you covered on recruiting if any news breaks when I’m away, and I’m looking forward to being back next Monday in preparation for Big Ten Media Days.
