Ohio State has lined up another official visit with a defensive transfer target.

UCLA safety Kamari Ramsey told 247Sports’ Greg Biggins that he plans to make an official visit to Ohio State this week. Ramsey will also visit Washington.

“I’m visiting Washington and Ohio State this weekend,” Ramsey told 247Sports. “I’m still working out the dates, but I'm going to visit those two schools and should have everything locked in soon here."

A four-star recruit in the 2022 class out of Sierra Canyon High School, Ramsey was recruited by Ohio State as a high school prospect but ended up staying closer to home for his first two years of college. After redshirting as a true freshman, Ramsey started 11 games for UCLA this season and recorded 40 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception and four pass breakups as one of the Bruins’ starting safeties.

Ramsey has three remaining seasons of collegiate eligibility.

With Josh Proctor set to exhaust his eligibility and Lathan Ransom also a candidate to enter the 2024 NFL draft, Ohio State could use another experienced safety for next year’s roster. While Sonny Styles is likely to start at one safety spot and Malik Hartford and Ja’Had Carter are candidates to compete for another starting job, the Buckeyes don’t have any other returning safeties who have played defensive snaps this season after Cameron Martinez and Kye Stokes entered the transfer portal.

Ramsey is now one of three defensive transfer targets who are expected to make official visits to Ohio State this week along with UTSA edge rusher Trey Moore and Cal linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr.
