The top-rated offensive tackle in the 2025 cycle has narrowed down his recruitment.

The Buckeyes made the cut.

Five-star North Carolina prospect David Sanders Jr. released a top six on Saturday that featured Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Sanders is the No. 2 prospect in the country and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2025 class. He hasn’t visited Columbus since the spring game last April, but that could change this spring and summer.

“Really good program,” Sanders told 247Sports of Ohio State. “They’re known for making book-end tackles and developing them to be first-round draft picks. I enjoy talking to coach (Justin) Frye and building the relationship with that coaching staff. Out of all the schools I’m looking at, I’ve spent the least amount of time there. I look forward to getting up there and spending more time with them. I really enjoy them and everything they stand for as a program.”

Sanders has long been a priority offensive tackle target for the Buckeyes, who are off to a good start this cycle after landing four-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe in January.

OSU expected to host strong contingent of visitors this week

As of Monday, the dead period has been lifted and recruiting visits are expected to resume in full swing for the next six weeks in Columbus.

The Buckeyes’ first practice of the spring gets underway Tuesday morning and two notable 2025 in-state prospects are expected to be in attendance, including four-star tight end Luka Gilbert and four-star cornerback Dawayne Galloway. Gilbert visited Ohio State several times last fall, while Galloway is a top-105 prospect with more than 25 Division I offers but doesn’t hold an offer from the Buckeyes as of yet.

On Thursday, three-star 2025 Ohio offensive lineman Nolan Davenport is an offer watch, and it would be almost shocking if four-star Indiana defensive end Damien Shanklin doesn’t leave Columbus with an offer in hand.

The Buckeyes will finish the week hosting a premier linebacker target, Nasir Wyatt, who will visit Ohio State on Saturday.

Kaden Strayhorn includes the Buckeyes in his top 12

An offensive lineman with an Ohio State offer has started to narrow down his recruitment.

Four-star Florida prospect Kaden Strayhorn released a top 12 on Saturday consisting of Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Michigan State, Alabama, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Miami, Texas and Mizzou.

Strayhorn earned his Ohio State offer last summer after impressing Justin Frye at a recruiting camp.

"It felt great to get the offer," Strayhorn told Eleven Warriors shortly after he received it. "Coach Day told me coach Frye said I did outstanding in the camp and that I was offered a scholarship. In camp, coach Frye told me chest over knees, knees over ankles.”

Strayhorn, a Michigan State legacy, will likely visit Ohio State sometime this spring, but does not have a specific date set as of yet.

Jayvan Boggs wins MVP at Under Armour Next camp Sunday

Ohio State four-star 2025 wide receiver commit Jayvan Boggs turned heads this weekend while competing at the Under Armour Next camp on Sunday in Miami.

Boggs was named the MVP of the event after standing out in individual drills, including this terrific catch.
