Ohio State is set to host its second massive recruiting weekend of the spring.
A few dozen prospects will travel to Columbus on Saturday to attend the Buckeyes’ “Student Appreciation Day” practice, which usually has a lively atmosphere each year.
There will be no shortage of key visitors from each of the 2025 and 2026 classes.
Five-star 2025 offensive tackle David Sanders, the No. 1 ranked tackle in the current class, will make his first visit to Columbus in nearly a year. Offensive line coach Justin Frye will have his hands full making an all-out pitch to Sanders, and while Sanders still plans on taking an official visit to Columbus on June 21, a successful trip this weekend could boost the Buckeyes’ stock with the North Carolina prospect.
Ohio State commits Tavien St. Clair and Carter Lowe will be back in Columbus this weekend and will no doubt lend their peer recruiting efforts in trying to help the Buckeyes secure the country’s No. 2 overall prospect.
Arguably the Buckeyes’ top wide receiver target in 2025, five-star Florida prospect Jaime Ffrench, is also expected to be back on campus this week.

Things are trending in the right direction with Ffrench for Ohio State, and that momentum can continue for Brian Hartline if all goes well on Saturday. Other notable wide receivers expected to visit include Talyn Taylor, Phillip Bell, Daylan McCutcheon, Donovan Olugbode, Marcus Harris and Vernell Brown III, who is making his second trip to Columbus this spring.
Plenty of key secondary prospects, including safeties Faheem Delane, Jonah Williams, Jadyn Hudson and cornerback Dorian Brew, are also making their way to Ohio State this weekend.

The Buckeyes are still in a great spot with Delane, but can’t be ruled out for Williams either, depending on how this weekend goes. Brew has been a frequent visitor to campus over the past year but has taken plenty of other visits since he and his family moved to Texas. Tim Walton will ensure Brew knows he’s still a massive priority to Ohio State this weekend despite already having commitments from the No. 1 and No. 2 cornerbacks in the 2025 cycle.
James Laurinaitis hopes to secure a commitment from four-star linebacker Tarvos Alford when he commits on Saturday, but also will put a full-court press on Texas linebacker Riley Pettijohn. Pettijohn is a priority target for the Buckeyes, but keeping him away from Texas will be tricky.
Larry Johnson will welcome two key defensive line targets this weekend in defensive tackle Trent Wilson and defensive end London Merritt. Merritt is a priority target on the edge that already has an official visit set for this summer and things look pretty good there, while Ohio State probably isn’t the favorite for Wilson at the moment. But that could change.
