Williams has visited Ohio State twice in his recruitment, once in the fall for the Michigan State game and again in March for a spring practice.
“I really like the atmosphere, seeing the way Ohio State’s offense played was exciting and I thought the team played really well,” Williams told Eleven Warriors after his Michigan State visit.
The Buckeyes offered Williams on his spring trip in March, with the offer coming from Ryan Day. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is considered the No. 96 overall prospect and the No. 8 quarterback in the 2026 class.
In Williams' sophomore season, he recorded 2,950 total yards and 31 touchdowns. He’s expected to visit each of his four finalists this fall.
2027 CB Larry Moon III grateful for Ohio State offer
Pennsylvania 2027 cornerback Larry Moon III was one of the standout performers at Ohio State’s first recruiting camp of the summer, and he left Columbus with an offer from the Buckeyes to show for it. Ryan Day presented the 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback with the offer at the end of camp.

“It feels good because Ohio State has a rich tradition of football,” Moon said. “Being a part of that would be something special. (Coach Day said) you looked good out there and to keep up the good work. He thinks I’m really talented.”
Moon also appreciated the opportunity to get coached by Ohio State secondary coach Tim Walton. It was his second time talking with Walton, as he came to Columbus in the spring for a practice.
“He was just talking to me about the real and the fake stuff in recruiting,” Moon said of his conversation with Walton at the camp. “He coached me hard at the camp about discipline and attention to detail.”
Moon has more than 30 Division I offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Tennessee, USC and Wisconsin.
“OSU sits with me very high because coach Walton is very respected developing defensive backs,” Moon said of where he views the Buckeyes in his recruitment. “I’m just grateful for all the opportunities I have for my family and I.”
Moon says he hopes to be back at Ohio State sometime this fall for a gameday visit.
Daylan McCutcheon set to commit Saturday
One of Ohio State’s 2025 wide receiver targets is ready to make his college decision. Four-star Texas prospect Daylan McCutcheon will announce his commitment on Saturday and choose from five finalists consisting of Ohio State, Texas, Florida State, USC and SMU.
McCutcheon took his official visit to Ohio State on May 31 and visited each of his other finalists throughout the summer. Brian Hartline and the Buckeyes made a favorable impression on the 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect on his trip.
“My visit overall was good,” McCutcheon told Eleven Warriors after the visit. “Being able to hang out with coach Ryan Day, coach Hartline and being able to talk to coach Chip Kelly and hang out with the players was great. The overall experience and what they had to say, being able to be coached up and being around the players and hearing what they like about Ohio State was great.”
In his junior year, McCutcheon recorded 92 catches for 1,423 yards and 19 touchdowns.
“Playing for Ohio State, it would be a great opportunity and platform to reach the NFL,” McCutcheon said. “I know I’d be around players that would give me an opportunity to get better each and every day.”
A day ahead of his commitment, the thinking is Florida State may hold a slight advantage in McCutcheon’s recruitment. We’ll know for sure in 24 hours.
