A few dozen prospects attended Ohio State’s season-opening victory against Akron last weekend.

While there aren’t scheduled to be as many recruiting visitors for the Buckeyes’ second game of the season Saturday, there are still some highly touted athletes expected to be in attendance for OSU’s contest with Western Michigan.

From the Buckeyes’ 2025 class, four-star wide receiver commit Quincy Porter will be back on campus this weekend. Porter and Bergen Catholic (Oradell, New Jersey) are playing in the Buckeye State on Friday night against Massillon before the 6-foot-3 standout heads to Ohio Stadium.

Ohio State has a few key visitors from the 2026 class expected to be on campus. In-state offensive tackle Sam Greer will make his first gameday visit of the fall, as the Archbishop Hoban product has been no stranger to Columbus the past year. Tight ends coach Keenan Bailey will be busy coaching on the field and recruiting one of the Buckeyes’ top priority tight end targets in the 2026 class, four-star Illinois prospect Mack Sutter. Sutter, a top-110 prospect in the cycle, picked up an offer from OSU in April and visited Columbus in June for a recruiting camp.

Four-star cornerback Jordan Thomas, a top-300 prospect in the 2026 class, is another notable athlete returning to campus for a gameday visit, as he was at OSU for a camp this summer.

Two notable 2027 Ohio offensive linemen will make their way to Ohio Stadium on Saturday: Reed Gerken and Mason Wilt. Neither prospect has an OSU offer as of yet, but both are definitely worth keeping an eye on in the upcoming months.

Finally, he may only be a freshman in high school at the moment, but arguably one of the most talented prospects on campus Saturday will be 2028 quarterback Neimann Lawrence. Lawrence was the second player OSU offered in the 2028 class, and the Buckeyes offered him in the summer before he even played a down of high school football. He threw in front of Chip Kelly and Ryan Day during a recruiting camp in June and impressed both coaches with his instincts and arm talent.

“Getting the offer was great,” Lawrence told Eleven Warriors after the camp. “I had the mindset to come out there and compete with some of the best guys, like Tavien St. Clair. (Coach Day) told me that I have a lot of potential and that I’m only a rising freshman but there were a lot of good things that caught his attention. Honestly, it’s a big deal (to get an offer as a freshman), I can see just from the views and things like that from the past two hours (of getting the offer). It’s truly a blessing.”

It’s early in his recruitment, but Lawrence, who could be one of the best signal callers in his class, is already high on the Buckeyes.

“I like the quarterbacks that they’ve developed,” Lawrence said of OSU. “And they’ve really got some good things going on there. I can see myself there in the future, but my recruiting process is just starting. I have a long way to go.”
