A top in-state target for Ohio State in the 2027 class enjoyed his gameday visit to Ohio Stadium last weekend for the Buckeyes’ season opener against Akron.

Ohio 2027 tight end D’Angelo White made the trek to OSU alongside high school teammate and Ohio State commit Bo Jackson and was impressed by what he saw from the Buckeyes in the team’s 52-6 win.

“My Ohio State visit was very good and my main takeaways from the trip were mostly about the tight ends,” White told Eleven Warriors. “The game day atmosphere was beautiful at the Buckeyes’ stadium. I think the tight ends did good, but they have to set the tone first play.”

White spent some time with Ohio State tight ends coach Keenan Bailey and several other staffers and said he hopes to get back to OSU at some point this fall.

“My favorite part about the trip was spending time with coaches and just being in the Buckeyes’ territory,” White said. “I don’t have any further visits planned but I would love to be back on campus soon. The most appealing thing about potentially playing for Ohio State is just being a Buckeye and being in good hands in a great culture.”

White picked up an offer from OSU on June 11 following an impressive camp performance in front of Bailey and Ryan Day. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect has previously said he considers the Buckeyes his leader in his recruitment at the moment and is excited to see what Jackson does in Columbus over the next few years.

In-state prospect Chaz Coleman drawing interest from OSU

With the first few weeks of the high school football season underway, the senior tape from one in-state prospect has intrigued Ohio State a bit thus far. Three-star Ohio prospect Chaz Coleman has heard from the Buckeyes and will likely visit OSU in a few weeks for the Marshall contest, per 247Sports.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Coleman plays quarterback for Warren G. Harding High School, but that won’t be where he plays in college. Normally we hate using the term “athlete” in our write-ups because technically all recruits are athletes, but the implied meaning of that term applies here in that Coleman could play multiple positions at the next level, including tight end and defensive end.

“Well I just tell people to watch his basketball highlights and they'll understand," Harding coach Matt Richardson told 247Sports. "I told people in the spring you don't have to see him play football to give him a football scholarship, just watch that. He can do it all on the field. If he had been training as a quarterback since the sixth grade like others, he would be getting recruited as a quarterback. A lot of schools see him as an athletic tight end who can do different things as well as a Wildcat quarterback. I see him as an edge. I think he's an edge. That's my opinion and people who make more money than me like him as a tight end, but athletically, he can do anything.”

In the past few weeks, Coleman has picked up offers from Kentucky and Ole Miss and has received interest from Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame in addition to Ohio State. He will visit Kentucky this weekend and hopes to get to Michigan State, OSU and Ole Miss for gameday visits at some point this fall.

Jahkeem Stewart looking to reclassify to 2025 cycle

The top defensive line prospect in the 2026 class is officially taking steps to reclassify to 2025. Per Rivals, five-star defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart is no longer enrolled at St. Augustine High School (New Orleans, Louisiana) and is hoping to quickly enroll at another school with intentions of graduating early and potentially reclassifying to the 2025 class. According to the Rivals report, IMG Academy is the most likely option, with the school's courses set to begin on Tuesday.

Speculation of Stewart's reclassification has ensued for months, but now actions are being taken which makes the move more likely than not. Should Stewart reclassify, he'd likely graduate in December and enroll in his college of choice in January.

Ohio State, LSU, USC and Oregon are the top contenders for Stewart, who expects to attend the Ohio State vs. Michigan game in November.

Another visit weekend on tap

In case you missed it from earlier this morning, Ohio State is set to host a few notable prospects on campus this weekend, including four-star 2026 tight end Mack Sutter, four-star 2026 offensive tackle Sam Greer and highly touted 2028 quarterback Neimann Lawrence.
