Carlos Locklyn continues to expand his recruiting board for the 2027 class.

Locklyn extended an offer to Texas prospect Jakoby Dixon on Tuesday, making him the eighth running back Ohio State has offered in the 2027 cycle.

The 5-foot-9, 183-pound running back has picked up 14 offers thus far including Baylor, Houston, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UTEP, UTSA and Arkansas State.

As a freshman, Dixon ran for 1,181 yards on 133 carries with 14 rushing touchdowns and added 34 receptions for 502 yards and five receiving scores.

Isaiah Williams includes Buckeyes in top five

An Ohio State safety target in the 2026 class included the Buckeyes in his top five released on Wednesday. In addition to OSU, three-star Texas safety Isaiah Williams included Texas, Mizzou, LSU and Oklahoma in his final five.

Williams is ranked as the No. 393 prospect and the No. 31 safety in the 2026 class per 247Sports’ composite rankings.

OSU safeties coach Matt Guerrieri offered Williams in January. In his sophomore season, Williams recorded 86 tackles (seven for loss), a forced fumble, four interceptions and five pass deflections.

Jamarion Carlton puts OSU in his top 10

One of the top defensive ends in the 2026 class has started to narrow down his recruitment. Four-star Texas prospect Jamarion Carlton put out a top 10 on Tuesday consisting of Ohio State, LSU, Kansas State, USC, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Texas.

OSU offered Carlton on June 12 and hosted him for a recruiting camp this summer. The 6-foot-4, 238-pound Carlton is considered the No. 53 prospect and No. 3 defensive lineman in the 2026 class per 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Maxwell Riley visiting OSU Saturday

A top Ohio State offensive tackle target for the 2026 class is expected to return to campus on Saturday.

In what could be one of the bigger visit weekends of the fall for the Buckeyes, four-star Ohio tackle Maxwell Riley will be one of the more highly touted prospects on campus, as he’s considered the No. 70 prospect nationally and the No. 9 offensive tackle in the 2026 class. Riley has been a frequent visitor on the Buckeyes’ campus, taking visits to Columbus in the summer, spring and last fall.

Earlier this summer, Riley released a top seven consisting of OSU, Mizzou, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida State and Clemson.

“He’s got some of the best footwork I’ve ever seen out of a kid his size,” Riley’s high school coach Matt Kostelnik told Eleven Warriors last year. “We knew there was a lot of potential there. He does O-line specific stuff a couple of times a week, whether it’s with us or a trainer. He’s a shot put thrower. When (OSU offensive lineman) coach (Justin) Frye came in and asked me what I thought, I told him I can run outside zone effectively and consistently for the first time as a head coach. I hadn’t been able to do it before. But we can run to Max’s side. That’s the kids ability to get his hips going downfield, get his hands on people and finishes. He’s the nicest kid off the field, he has five siblings, but he puts that helmet on and a lot of hate comes out of that heart that you didn’t think was there.”
