Ohio State demolishes Tennessee, 42-17, and advances to the Rose Bowl to face top-seeded Oregon.
A top in-state offensive tackle in the 2026 class had a successful visit to Ohio State last weekend.
Four-star Ohio prospect Adam Guthrie has been no stranger to visiting OSU in the past year and got to take in his first gameday experience of the season in Ohio Stadium for the Iowa game last Saturday.
“I thought the visit went good,” Guthrie told Eleven Warriors. “The atmosphere was crazy. It was good to hang out with all the other commits and all the other recruits.”
Blessed to say I have been offered another D1 scholarship offer from The Ohio State University after a great conversation with @ryandaytime, @CoachJFrye and @DJRSwework. Go Bucks! pic.twitter.com/bjtLPwb2XI

While on the trip, Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye offered Guthrie, which was a special moment for the 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect.
“It felt good being a hometown kid, obviously,” Guthrie said of his offer. “It was great to be offered by such a high-level program. (Coach Frye) said he wanted to offer me based on how I play and the scheme that they run.”

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Guthrie is considered the No. 211 prospect nationally and the No. 16 offensive tackle. He plays both left and right tackle for his high school, but primarily lines up on the left side.
“Just being dominant and athletic and being quick with my feet,” Guthrie said of his best on-field attributes.
Guthrie said he doesn’t know the next time he’ll visit OSU but does plan on returning for a visit at some point. Other schools standing out to Guthrie include Texas, Georgia, Penn State, Missouri, Tennessee, Clemson, Miami and Kentucky. He said he doesn’t have any commitment timeline in mind at the moment.
“It definitely sits near the top for me, with many other programs,” Guthrie said of where the Buckeyes stand in his recruitment. “I like that it’s a top program and is only 30 minutes away from home.”
Carter Luckie to visit OSU Nov. 30
It’s no secret Ohio State’s biggest recruiting weekend of the season will likely be Nov. 30 for the Michigan game, with dozens of highly touted prospects expected to be in Columbus for the Buckeyes’ rivalry game against Michigan.
One prospect expected to attend is four-star 2026 defensive lineman Carter Luckie, per 247Sports. Luckie visited OSU in June and is a top-235 prospect in the 2026 cycle. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive lineman will be a tough pull considering his brother plays at Georgia and the Bulldogs are equally high on the younger Luckie, but the Buckeyes have at least a puncher’s chance in this recruitment. Other programs pursuing Luckie include Michigan and Tennessee.
Riley Pettijohn having standout senior season
James Laurinaitis has turned in a standout first recruiting class as a full-time assistant for the 2025 cycle, highlighted by five-star linebacker Riley Pettijohn.
Pettijohn was back on campus last week for the Buckeyes’ game against Iowa, already making it the second time the Texas prospect has been on campus for a gameday visit this year. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker has had a profound impact for McKinney High School (McKinney, Texas) too this year.
In five games this season, Pettijohn has racked up 55 tackles, six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, four quarterback hurries, three pass deflections and a forced fumble. Pettijohn was also instrumental in leading his team to a 31-7 victory on Thursday.
