Ohio State has long been searching for a third running back to add to its 2025 class.
Fortunately, its top target at that position will soon be on campus.
Per On3, four-star Alabama running back Anthony Rogers has scheduled an official visit with Ohio State for the Oct. 26 weekend against Nebraska. Rogers has been committed to Alabama since June of 2023, but Georgia and Ohio State have heavily pursued him in recent months. The 5-foot-8, 190-pound Rogers first visited Columbus in May, when the Buckeyes’ running back situation was slightly unclear before official visits began. Now, he’ll have the full undivided attention of Carlos Locklyn as a clear priority for the 2025 cycle.
Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Rogers is considered the No. 118 prospect and the No. 6 running back in the 2025 cycle.
Myles McAfee thrilled by Ohio State offer
Earlier this season, Ohio State offered one of the top wide receivers in the 2027 cycle. Four-star Maryland wideout Myles McAfee picked up an offer following his visit to campus on Sept. 21 for the Marshall game.
“It was very humbling,” McAfee told Eleven Warriors. “They’re known for putting receivers out into the league. To get the offer this early, I’m very blessed.

“(Ohio State is) definitely near the top for me. They produce elite-level wide receivers, so they’re definitely near the top.”
Ryan Day presented the offer to McAfee, which was thrilling for the 5-foot-11, 165-pound wideout.
“It was a short conversation, but he just said he liked my film, especially after having three touchdowns against (Ohio Archbishop Hoban in Week 1). That basically put me on the map. He told me to keep up the good work and that they wanted me to get back to OSU and he offered me a scholarship.”
McAfee was impressed by freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith and likes that Ohio State isn’t afraid to give a freshman wide receiver playing time if he proves capable of it.
“He just got in there, so a lot more people are probably going to try and do that, obviously,” McAfee said. “But you have to be good to do it.”
Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, McAfee is considered the No. 51 prospect and the No. 8 wide receiver in the 2027 cycle.
“I would say I’m an all-around receiver, but more of an outside guy,” McAfee said. “I feel like I can get off press really good but I can play all around.”
McAfee said he plans to return to campus on Nov. 30 for the Buckeyes’ game against Michigan.
“That’ll definitely be a game to watch,” McAfee said. “I feel like Ohio State will win this one though. I feel like they’re going to dominate.”
Na’eem Offord reacts to Oregon visit
Ohio State five-star cornerback commit Na’eem Offord took an official visit to Oregon over the weekend and ultimately saw the Ducks narrowly edge the Buckeyes in a 32-31 contest Saturday. Despite Ohio State's loss, Offord told On3 he’s optimistic OSU will have a rematch with Oregon in the Big Ten Championship game.
“Just seen two of the best teams in college football go head to head, and this won’t be the last time,” Offord said. “It was one of the loudest games ever and the best visit so far.”
Ohio State is fighting off efforts from both Auburn and Oregon to flip the standout cornerback and hopes to get Offord back on campus in October for the Nebraska game.
