Ohio State has pulled off a major addition on National Signing Day.
OSU running backs coach Carlos Locklyn secured a major win on the recruiting trail on Wednesday, convincing four-star running back Anthony Rogers to join the Buckeyes' 2025 recruiting class.

- Composite Rank: #141 (#8 RB)
Rogers had been committed to Alabama for most of his process, only decomitting last month, and also considered Georgia late in his recruitment, but the Buckeyes were able to secure his signature in crunch time.
Locklyn built a strong relationship with Rogers throughout the recruiting process, especially by bonding over their strong Alabama roots. Rogers first showed real interest in the Buckeyes in May when he took an unofficial visit to Columbus and promised to take an official visit later in the fall.
The 5-foot-8, 190-pound prospect returned to OSU in November for the Buckeyes' contest against Purdue and was convinced on the visit by Locklyn that OSU would be the best place for him to continue his development.
Rogers had been committed to Alabama since June of 2023, and OSU fended off the Crimson Tide along with Georgia and other blue bloods that attempted to flip him.

Rogers gives OSU legit playmaker in the backfield
Per 247Sports' composite rankings, Rogers is considered the No. 141 prospect overall and the No. 8 running back in the 2025 class. He's the third OSU running back commit in the current class, joining Bo Jackson and Isaiah West. Overall, he's the 26th prospect to commit to the Buckeyes in the 2025 class, who are fighting for another top-five recruiting class nationwide.
The Alabama standout was used as a versatile player in his senior season at Carver High School (Montgomery, Alabama). In nine games, Rogers racked up 221 rushing yards on 36 carries with two rushing scores and caught 42 passes for 478 yards and four receiving touchdowns. He also served as the team's kick returner.
It's possible his role at Ohio State could be similar, as his build is equipped to handle a role either in the backfield or as a slot receiver. He might have a chance to earn playing time as a freshman considering TreVeyon Henderson will be gone after 2024 and OSU is awaiting an NFL draft decision from Quinshon Judkins as well. Jackson could also fight for immediate playing time, but he will be recovering from a knee injury sustained in his senior season.
Rogers spent his junior season at national powerhouse IMG Academy, where he ran for 316 yards on 41 carries with five touchdowns. In his sophomore year at Pike Road, Judkins’ alma mater, Rogers recorded 1,626 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns while averaging 8.7 yards per carry and added 219 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
