Ohio State is making another run at landing the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2025 class.
Five-star North Carolina prospect David Sanders Jr. is attending the Buckeyes' top-five matchup against Indiana on Saturday, Sanders’ father told Eleven Warriors on Saturday morning.
Sanders' recruitment was hotly contested between Ohio State and Tennessee over the summer, but the standout tackle eventually committed to the Volunteers in August. The OSU staff is thrilled to have Sanders back in Columbus for a shot at flipping him, though it will need to make a significant pitch (and NIL investment) to swing his commitment away from the Volunteers.
Per 247Sports' composite rankings, Sanders is considered the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2025 class. He visited OSU several times earlier this year, most recently making an official visit in June, and has had a strong relationship with both Justin Frye and Ryan Day throughout the recruitment process.
Ohio State's No. 1 glaring need in its recruiting class, ranked No. 2 nationally by 247Sports behind Georgia, is still a premier offensive tackle, so pulling a coup and landing Sanders would go a long way towards building the type of class OSU fans could salivate over.
