Ohio State hosted a major transfer offensive tackle target over the weekend.
Per On3, former Rice offensive tackle Ethan Onianwa visited Columbus on Sunday, with the visit extending into Monday. Onianwa has been a three-year starter for Rice, primarily playing right tackle.
He’s coming off an excellent season where he allowed just one sack on 350 pass-blocking snaps. Per Pro Football Focus’ grades, Onianwa earned an overall grade of 74.6 and a pass-blocking grade of 79.3 in 2024. The 6-foot-6, 345-pound tackle will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Onianwa has also recently visited Iowa and Oklahoma. His visit came two days after OSU hosted former Northwestern guard Josh Thompson.
OSU offers Brady Norton
Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye let his interest be known in another transfer offensive lineman on Monday as the Buckeyes extended an offer to former Cal Poly offensive tackle Brady Norton.

Norton was a FCS Freshman All-American this season. Norton, who has three years of eligibility remaining, turned in an overall grade of 73.5 this past season, including a grade of 90.6 in pass blocking and 63.7 in run blocking, per PFF.
Cal Poly’s roster lists Norton as 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds, so he could be in line for a move inside instead of playing tackle if he ends up in Columbus.
Norton has set up visits to Wake Forest, Virginia, Syracuse, Georgia Tech and Kansas State and also picked up a Michigan offer on Sunday.
Rahtrel Perry trying to set up visit with Buckeyes
You can probably guess a common theme here, but Ohio State has no shortage of interest in transfer portal offensive linemen.
Former Central Connecticut State left tackle Rahtrel Perry told Eleven Warriors this weekend he’s trying to work out a visit with OSU, offering the Buckeyes another potential option at tackle. Syracuse, LSU, Washington and Vanderbilt are among the other schools that have been linked to Perry.
Perry played 13 games and 902 offensive snaps last season for Central Connecticut State and turned in an overall grade of 62.4 per Pro Football Focus. While he might be less of a sure thing than more established FBS offensive linemen, the 6-foot-7, 323-pound tackle has drawn plenty of interest from Power Four schools since entering the portal and could offer plenty of upside for OSU.
Phillip Daniels, Amaris Williams enter portal
Two more players who could be of interest to Ohio State entered the portal on Monday.
Former Minnesota offensive tackle Phillip Daniels could be an intriguing option for OSU, as Daniels started the final four games of this season for the Gophers at right tackle and was slated to return as a starter for the 2025 season. An Ohio native who grew up in Cincinnati, Daniels played 300 offensive snaps for Minnesota this season and turned in a 62.5 overall grade per Pro Football Focus. His pass blocking (65.4) and run blocking (66.7) were very similarly graded.
Another transfer portal entrant of note is former Auburn defensive end Amaris Williams. Williams was heavily recruited by OSU in the 2024 class, with the Buckeyes being in the driver’s seat at one point in that recruitment, so they could be a player to land him as they look to bolster their defensive end depth. Williams played 120 defensive snaps in 2024 and recorded an overall grade of 71.2, with his run defense being his strongest attribute.
Mansoor Delane commits to LSU
A transfer cornerback briefly connected to Ohio State is off the market.
Despite reported interest in the Buckeyes, former Virginia Tech cornerback Mansoor Delane committed to LSU on Monday. Delane is the older brother of OSU safety signee Faheem Delane.

OSU could still add a transfer in the secondary this offseason. While the Buckeyes don’t have a major need at cornerback, the need would become more significant if Davison Igbiniosun enters the 2025 NFL draft.
