Earlier this week, we reported offensive tackle transfer Rahtrel Perry was trying to set up a visit with OSU.

That visit materialized on Wednesday, and Perry came away with a positive impression of the Buckeyes.

“It went great,” Perry told Eleven Warriors of the visit. “Loved the atmosphere.”

Perry, a former Central Connecticut State left tackle, has intrigued many FBS schools following an impressive year playing at the FCS level. The 6-foot-7, 323-pound tackle played 13 games and 902 offensive snaps last season for Central Connecticut State and turned in an overall grade of 62.4 per Pro Football Focus. He’s ranked as the No. 10 offensive tackle in the transfer portal per 247Sports and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

A decision could come soon from Perry, but he’ll likely visit Florida this weekend first before making up his mind. Other schools he’s visited include Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Maryland. If he commits to OSU, Perry would be the second offensive tackle to transfer to Ohio State for the 2025 season, joining Phillip Daniels.

Logan George visiting OSU

One day before Ohio State hosts Tennessee in the College Football Playoff, defensive line coach Larry Johnson is hosting an intriguing defensive end transfer target.

Earlier this week, OSU and Johnson offered Logan George, who just completed his sophomore year with FCS program Idaho State. The 6-foot-5, 259-pound George has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

In 12 starts for Idaho State this season, George recorded 57 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. Per Pro Football Focus’ grades, George recorded an overall grade of 73 for the 2024 season (an above-average grade) and was graded 71.5 in run defense and 73.4 in pass rush. He played 648 total defensive snaps.

Buckeyes making pitch to former Purdue TE Max Klare

Ohio State is also going after one of the best tight ends available on the transfer market. Per On3, the Buckeyes have emerged as a team to watch for former Purdue tight end Max Klare.

Klare has visited Michigan, Texas A&M, Texas and Louisville, but OSU and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly are actively trying to set up a visit for Klare in Columbus.

Klare is from Ohio originally (Cincinnati) and is considered the top tight end prospect in the portal. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Klare had a breakout season for the Boilermakers this year, catching 51 passes for 685 yards and four touchdowns.

Klare finished the 2024 season with an overall grade of 78.2 from Pro Football Focus. He’s known more for his pass-catching (84.2 grade as a receiver) than his blocking (55.2 run-blocking grade).

OSU could use Klare’s experience in the tight end room with Gee Scott Jr. set to depart after the season and returning tight end Will Kacmarek being known more for his blocking.

WVU OL Tomas Rimac enters portal

OSU fans never get tired of hearing about standout offensive linemen who enter the portal, right? Especially if those linemen are from Ohio originally and coming off a great season.

West Virginia guard Tomas Rimac entered the portal on Wednesday, coming off a season where he earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors.

Rimac has started 28 games for the Mountaineers and has one season of eligibility remaining. The Brunswick resident received an overall grade of 77.1 this season from PFF. His pass blocking was outstanding, achieving a grade of 86.3, while his run blocking was graded at 75.
