A four-star defensive tackle in the 2026 recruiting class has locked in an official visit to Ohio State.

Alabama prospect Emanuel Ruffin confirmed he’ll visit Ohio State from June 6-8 and will also take trips to LSU and Alabama this summer.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Ruffin is considered the No. 238 prospect and the No. 30 defensive lineman in the 2026 class.

Ruffin has only come on Ohio State’s radar recently, as Larry Johnson offered the 6-foot-4, 290-pound standout earlier this month. The upcoming visit will present a big opportunity for Johnson, defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and other coaches to establish more of a rapport with Ruffin.

In his junior season, Ruffin recorded 51 tackles, two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.

Guerrieri, Walton visit Simeon Caldwell

As the Buckeyes’ coaching staff winds down their month-long journey of recruiting stops around the country, Tim Walton and Matt Guerrieri checked in on one of the Buckeyes’ top commitments in the 2026 class: Four-star Florida safety Simeon Caldwell.

Walton and Guerrieri visited Caldwell for his spring game, as the 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect prepares for his senior season before heading to Columbus for his collegiate career. Caldwell will make his official visit to Ohio State on June 20, which may or may not be a coincidence, considering five-star safety Bralan Womack also plans to make his trip to Ohio State then.

In-state OT Lual Aleu visiting Ohio State on June 5

While official visits are often the highlight of recruiting coverage in June, almost equally important are the one-day recruiting camps the Buckeyes host throughout the summer, where Ohio State’s coaching staff has the opportunity to evaluate prospects from all over the country at different positions. Often, plenty of offers are handed out each day at camp.

A three-star Ohio offensive tackle hopes to be one of those prospects to receive an offer from the Buckeyes, as Winton Woods standout Lual Aleu confirmed he’ll be at Ohio State’s camp on June 5.

Aleu is considered the No. 418 prospect and the No. 36 offensive tackle in the 2027 cycle. He has 15 Division I offers to this point, including from Cincinnati, Florida, Kentucky, Mizzou, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

Luke Wafle to commit either in late June or early July

Ohio State will host one of its top defensive end targets for the current cycle this weekend. Coming off an official visit to Florida, the Buckeyes will get their chance to impress New Jersey standout Luke Wafle this weekend. Following his trip to Columbus, he’ll visit Penn State, USC and Texas this summer.

Wafle told On3 recently he plans on committing shortly after he finishes his official visits, likely either in late June or early July. Ohio State has a firm shot to land the 6-foot-6, 245-pound pass rusher.

“I want to see Ohio State’s plan for me on the official visit,” Wafle told On3. “I am excited to spend more time with coach Johnson too. He came by my house the other day for dinner and he is a great coach. Coach Johnson excites me about Ohio State. That is the first thing that comes to mind. His whole career has been about developing players. Along with coach Johnson, I like the competitive atmosphere and how everyone strives for winning at Ohio State too.”
