Ohio State has completed two official visit weekends and has two more remaining.
Only three prospects visited campus last week, but 12 recruits are expected to be in Columbus this weekend, some already committed to Ohio State and some who are still priority uncommitted targets.
Locally, all eyes will be on two Glenville products, as the Buckeyes try to seal the deal with four-star linebacker Cincere Johnson and three-star defensive tackle Jamir Perez. Both players camped at OSU on Monday, giving a pretty good indication of their interest in the Buckeyes.

James Laurinaitis has been pushing for Johnson for months now and will make one final pitch this weekend. He won’t have to wait long to find out whether OSU did enough to land him or not, as Johnson has a commitment date set for Thursday and will pick between the Buckeyes, Alabama and Penn State.
“Ryan Day, James Laurinaitis and just the brotherhood and relationships that are going on down in Columbus,” Johnson said last month of what stands out to him the most about Ohio State. “The transfer portal just happened and Ohio State is one of the schools that just shows that brotherhood, that stands out to me every time. “I’ve been able to see how things are run this spring coming off a national championship. They’re not getting too lax. The addition of coach (Matt) Patricia also shows the things that he brings to the table and the way Ohio State is going to be run this year.”
Perez committed to Florida last month, but there remains plenty of optimism from OSU that it can flip him. If the Buckeyes land one or either of the Glenville standouts, they’ll have continued the long-vaunted Glenville-to-OSU pipeline, with Bryce West, Arvell Reese and Damarion Witten being recent Tarblooders to sign with Ohio State.
No man will be busier than Larry Johnson this weekend. In addition to recruiting Perez, Johnson will make his pitches to defensive tackles PJ Dean and Earnest Rankins and defensive ends Carter Meadows, Jackson Ford and Keysaun Eleazer. Ohio State already sits in a good place with Dean and has the chance to make a major impression on the others as well.
“I’m really excited to spend more time with coach Larry Johnson and also having the opportunity to spend time with the players and other recruits,” Ford told Eleven Warriors last month. “I feel like that’s a big part of the process, seeing who you’re going to be with for the next couple of years. That’s definitely the thing I’m most excited for.”
“I’m looking forward to spending time with the coaches, but mainly interacting with the players and seeing how they feel about Ohio State outside of the football aspect,” Eleazer said last month of what he’s looking forward to the most on his upcoming official visit.
Georgia cornerback commit Justice Fitzpatrick won’t be in Columbus this weekend after shutting down his recruitment, but four-star cornerback Danny Odem will have Tim Walton’s full attention as he tries to add a third cornerback to pair with Jakob Weatherspoon and Jordan Thomas. Like Cincere Johnson, Odem won't wait long to make a decision and has a commitment scheduled for June 23.
All three of Ohio State’s offensive line commits, Maxwell Riley, Sam Greer and Tucker Smith, will be in town. Four-star linebacker CJ Sanna will make the short trek from his home in Columbus and also take his official visit to OSU this weekend, and he’s set on convincing Johnson to pair alongside him at the next level.
“Laurinaitis has told me to get on him, make sure he’s a Buckeye too,” Sanna told Eleven Warriors last month.
