I don't know French from a frying pan, but when a list of the top 20 quarterbacks in college football – including Braxton Miller – makes it to France, je parle le français very much.
A French site called The Blue Pennant, which is dedicated to college football, made a list of the top 20 quarterbacks in the game. Here's what they had to say about Miller, the No. 4 quarterback on their list (thanks to Reddit's college football subreddit for the translation):
4. Braxton Miller, Sr, Ohio State - dual-threat
If he had not suffered an injury at the end of last season, he would have been a serious contender for the Heisman Trophy in 2013. With a total of 36 TDs (24 passing, 12 rushing) last year, in 2014 he will attempt to be named the best offensive player in the Big Ten for a third consecutive year. (!)
A basic summary, but accurate and reasonable within a list of the game's top QBs. As far as I know, this is the first time a French site has covered Ohio State's quarterback situation.
Is American football taking over Europe? Yesterday, Germany and Austria played a gridiron game to determine the winner of the European Championship of American Football (Germany won 30-27 in double overtime), and now this. Clearly, these events have been timed to overshadow the upcoming World Cup. Très bien!
