With Michigan State’s Pat Narduzzi leaving to become Pittsburgh’s next head coach, current Spartan and former Ohio State graduate assistant Mike Tressel has been promoted to team’s co-defensive coordinator, according to multiple reports.
Tressel, who has served as Michigan State’s linebackers and special teams coach for the past eight seasons, will now oversee the Spartans’ defense, one that is preparing for a matchup against Baylor in the Cotton Bowl, along with secondary coach Harlon Barnett.
Tressel, of course, is the nephew of former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel, who guided the Buckeyes to the 2002 national championship.
