With a redux of the 2010 Rose Bowl on tap next week, perhaps it's pertinent to check in with that game's Offensive MVP: former Ohio State blue-chip quarterback, Terrelle Pryor.
Pryor was acquired by the reigning world champions, the Seattle Seahawks, last off-season, but was cut before the season began. After failing to catch on in places like Cincinnati as a wide receiver, it appears Pryor is trying to get back to his signal-calling roots.
According to Pro Football Talk's "league source," Terrelle Pryor either worked-out or will work-out for Andy Reid's Kansas City Chiefs sometime today.
The Chiefs finished the season at a respectable 9-7, but failed to make the playoffs. Andy Reid has a bit of a reputation as a quarterbacks guru too, so there are certainly worse resurrection spots. Pryor, after all, will only turn 26(!) in June.
For just a reminder of how electrifying Pryor was (and probably still could be), here are his highlights from that fateful day in January 2010:
The guy on the left in the header photo, former Ohio State wash-out Duron Carter, is about to put the capstone on his own resurrection. Carter, a break-out star in the CFL, is now a free agent who worked out with the Colts yesterday. He will soon be a millionaire playing big minutes in the NFL this fall.
